Both assure peace, privacy, and an escape from the cares and stresses
of the everyday world. The site offers a spectacular view of Maui and
Kahoolawe, matched dramatically by a backdrop of multicolored mountains
and lush valleys.

The
cool breezes brushing through the palm trees promise an ideal year-round
climate, free of pollution. Offshore, the waters are reef-protected,
affording safe swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and boating. Adjacent
Honomuni beach is renowned for both its privacy and the crystal clear
waters.

Kawaikapu
is a place still pristine and unbothered by hordes of tourists. A guest

The
first rental is a two-bedroom home close to the ocean with two baths
and a spacious open lanai (veranda) facing seaward. Polynesian-furnished,
the living room features two large picture windows and a color TV. There
is a queen-size bed and a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. The raised
shutters along the lanai create an airy outdoor atmosphere while providing
a spectacular view of Maui and the waves crashing over the distant reef.

The
cottage, distantly separated from the house, is located in a grotto
of bougainvillea, bamboo, and palms-a stone's throw from the shore.
Its A-frame design is distinctively Polynesian. Two couch-beds are downstairs
and a queen-size bed spreads out in a cozy loft. Lanai-dining can be
enjoyed on an outdoor deck with a view of the garden, the ocean, and
the outer islands.
